PRESIDENTIAL POLITICS AND STATE POLITICS

Presidential election 2012

There are 538 members of the Electoral College. Because of its small population, Wyoming is a single At-Large district with one U.S. Representative. The number of electoral votes allotted to each State corresponds to the number of Representatives and Senators that each State sends to Congress. Accordingly, the State of Wyoming is allotted three (3) electoral votes. Being a winner-takes-all State, the winning candidate in Wyoming will receive all 3 electoral votes.
In Presidential election 2008 Senator McCain won in Wyoming easily. He received 64.78% of the vote to Senator Obama's 32.54%.

U.S. House of Representatives Election in Wyoming, 2012

Because of it's small population, the State of Wyoming has one at-large congressional district made up of the entire state.

The increase in population recorded in the 2010 United States census was not sufficient for Wyoming to gain any additional congressional districts. Hence, redistricting was unnecessary.

The primary elections were held on August 21, 2012.

Following are the candidates on ballot for the general election on November 6, 2012:

CANDIDATES

Cynthia Lummis [R] Incumbent U.S. Rep.
Chris Henrichsen [D]
Richard Brubaker [Libertarian]
Charlie Hardy  [Independent]
