Michele Bachmann Is Not Backing Down

"We cannot elevate political correctness over national security"  said congresswoman Michele Bachmann in answer to those who have criticized her over the Muslim Brotherhood issue.

Last month Ms. Bachmann and four other members of congress wrote to the inspector general of the State Department and several other federal agencies expressing concern that Muslim Brotherhood  has infiltrated our national security institutions. Particular mention was made of the State Department's Deputy Chief  of Staff Huma Abedin, a long time aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The other four members of congress who joined Ms. Bachmann are Trent Franks of Arizona, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Tom Rooney of Florida and Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia.

[01-06-2012]
Michele Bachmann, a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Minnesota's 6th Congressional district was a candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2012 U.S. presidential election.

A strong conservative, Bachmann is a supporter of the Tea Party movement and a founder of the House Tea Party Caucus. She started her campaign really well and in August 2011, won the Ames Straw Poll hosted by the Iowa GOP. After Texas Governor Rick Perry entered the race she fell behind  in polls.
After being placed sixth in the Iowa Caucuses she announced on January 4th, 2012 that she is suspending her campaign and dropped out of the race.
The level of influence she may have in the 2012 presidential election is uncertain at this time.
