NEWS IN BRIEF

Congressional Elections in Illinois

By presidential-politics.com
August 11, 2011

There being no U.S. Senatorial or Gubernatorial election in Illinois this fall, and President Obama expected to carry the state without too much trouble, the contests for the U.S Congressional seats will obviously be in the forefront.

We already have two candidates, one from each party who went through the primary process, won the party nomination  and then abruptly withdrew leaving the Party Officials to replace them. We are referring to Democrat Brad Harriman in District 12 and Republican Timothy Johnson in District 13. There can be little doubt that this would hurt the efforts by their  parties to win in these districts.

"Occupy Wall Street" has come to Chicago.

[10-08-2011]
Protesters of the  movement  "Occupy wall Street" also known as "We are the 99%" gathered outside The Board of Trade and Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago.

"We have to get in to the streets and raise hell and send a message to the elected officials that we are not going to tolerate what they are doing to the middle class." said one of the protesters."
